For this floating home we went for a full make-over with new interior/exterior paint. We brought light into the space with additional lighting choices and create additions to the color palette with re-upholstering and selected new artwork.
My clients purchased this charmer in Redwood Heights and wanted to keep as much of the original mid century aesthetic. We altered the shower and the floor tiles in the hall bath. The kitchen was a full gut with a new layout: Marmoleum flooring, Ikea cabinetry, custom shelves with walnut and quartz countertops.
This addition expanded the kitchen, creating a new eating area, family room, powder room, master bedroom/bath suite. I consulted on the architectural drawings and building materials, selected finishes for the kitchen and bathrooms. We used Ann Sacks tile throughout and all new lighting.
I joke that I was a “hire a wife” on this project. I created a full interior color scheme for the home and choose most of the furnishings and window coverings, lighting, fixtures etc. This project was on going for 2 years! Monochromatic color scheme with a surprise color pop on the entry ceiling and back facing addition. I took this project over from another color consultant; thrilled that I was able to succeed with an awesome color scheme. This project grew into a full interior project led by the Feldman Architecture firm.
